VW's Golf Alltrack is essentially a four-wheel-drive version of the standard estate car with raised ride height and a more protective look with its chunky bumpers and extra trim but it certainly makes for a very attractive model made by DNA Collectibles.
The seventh generation of VW's popular car, the Golf Mk7, made its public début at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, winning the Euopean Car of the Year award in 2013, and in 2015 it won the World Car of the Year award, following on from the success of its predecessor, the Golf Mk6, back in 2009.
DNA Collectibles has chosen to model the 2015 Golf Mk7 Alltrack in Tornado Red and the model is an exclusive for DNA at 1/18 scale. Just 320 of these beauties have been made and each chassis is individually numbered.
As always for DNA, it is a resincast and features a sublime finish all over with marvellous detailing throughout, from the improved front end with its more protective styling all the way to the back of the car and rescuplted rear bumper.
The light units are incredibly realistic, something that DNA excels at - you have to look really closely before you even start wondering if its a model!
Interior finish and detailing is amazing with nothing left to the imagination, thanks to the realistic panoramic sunroof, and the wheel rims are exquisitely cast with no flash or imperfections whatsoever.
The finesse of the roof rails might cause you to wonder if these are a little fragile but fear not, these are flexible to the touch but keep their shape perfectly.
It's another sublime piece of work by these fabulously passionate modelmakers.
