Warner Bros Consumer Products (WBCP), the toy and collectable licensing arm of the film studio, has revealed details of the range of bat-tastic merchandise lines to be produced by its partners for the concluding part of Christopher Nolan’s popular Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, which is due to hit cinemas in the summer.

As master toy partner, Mattel will present a Batman collection across a range of categories, including action figures, vehicles and play-sets. Mattel will also produce a film-inspired toy line that will introduce its new innovative play technology ‘QuickTek’, which offers snap-and-slide armour and accessories.

Mattel’s line-up will also include a range of items produced for its display-quality Movie Masters line. The line, which is aimed at older fans and serious collectors, will offer ‘superior accuracy and detail’ and will feature several key characters from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Other products in the bat-pipeline to be offered by WBCP and its partners will include a signature line of premium collectables, art prints and articulated figures from Sideshow Collectables, and a wide range of costume products from Rubie’s Costume Co, based on the entire DC Comics portfolio, including ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Elsewhere, Funko will introduce a stylised plush and vinyl collection and Mezco will unmask a series of vinyl figures based on the movie characters.
