It’s not long now until the next Trains Galore event at Special Auction Services. Amongst the lots going under then hammer at the popular auction in December will be a famous City of Truro loco which is estimated at £8,000-10,000 and a GWR loco Bradley Manor which is expected to fetch in the region of £6,000-8,000. At the other end of the scale some rare, early Marklin, Treibwagen rail car sets have estimates of £800-1,200 each. The company has also recently taken in an incredibly rare Marklin Gauge I ‘Stephenson’ British-outline clockwork tank locomotive which is estimated at £6,000 - £8,000. By an extraordinary coincidence, SAS also have the 0 Gauge version, which is worth £1,500 to £2,500 – they have never been offered side by side before! The Marklin sets are part of a fine Swiss collection which Special Auction Services has been selling this year and that part of the sale alone should total well over £50,000.
