A special exhibition at the Generation Gallery in Manchester promises to explore the final frontier of collectable artwork. To commemorate the anniversary this October of the death of the creator of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek will be releasing a collection of limited edition fine art, created by official Star Trek artists that worked on the famous TV shows and films.

Each piece will be limited to only 95 in the world, will be hand signed by the artist and accompanied by a hand written certificate from CBS studios, to ensure they're clearly marked as collectors pieces. What's more, the artwork isn't just limited to the classic series and they take their inspiration from the numerous different series of Star Trek and films.

One art gallery has been chosen in each country to exhibit and retail the artwork, in the UK will be award winning Generation Gallery. "68 Million people around the world watch Star Trek each week, so we were thrilled to find out that we had been selected to host the artwork and be a part of the global phenomenon," said Robert Marks, gallery manager, while setting his phaser to stun.

The artwork can be seen on the walls of the gallery or via its website until the end of the year.
