Pictures of New Prototype Locos from Hornby Images

What a nice way to finish the week - Hornby sending over a bunch of prototype shots for a range of upcoming locomotives. In fact, some of the images are very early and don't even feature the finished liveries... but hopefully you'll still get an idea of what you can expect.

First up in the 42xx Class Locomotives is the GWR Monogram 2-8-0T No. 4283, which comes DCC ready (R3123) for £119.99 and DCC fitted (R3213X) for £137.49. The loco entered service in 1910 and was designed by G. J. Churchward. Features include extensive detail, sprung buffers and NEM couplings.

Up next, Hornby is releasing the Early BR 2-8-0T No. 4266 and again it comes DCC ready (R3124) for £119.99 or DCC fitted (R3124X) for £137.49.

In the 52xx Class Locomotives, you can get Late BR 2-8-0T - another G.J Churchward train, this one entered service in 1925 and there 40 built in total. It's available DCC fitted or ready for the same price as above.

Finally, in the 72xx Class, you can get Great Western 2-8-2T No. 7202 (R3127 and R3127X) or Late BR 2-8-2T No. 7229 (R3128 and R3128X). These are available for £129.99 DCC ready or £147.49 DCC fitted.
