Featuring in the TV & Film sale at Vectis on 19 January was a Kenner Prototype Vlix figure and accompanying silver coin.

The Vlix figure was never put into production by the manufacturer. Kenner, however, did sell some of the tooling and moulds to the Brazilian company Glasslite, who produced a limited run of carded figures and one such example sold in July 2016 for £12,000!

The Kenner figure, which exists in much fewer numbers as a prototype only, is much rarer than the Glasslite figure. The 'Droids' character is one of only a handful known to exist. Vectis had placed an enticing yet cautious estimate of £3,000 - £4,000 on this lot however when it finally sold it was for an impressive £8500.

Separately was a prototype silver Vlix Droids 'Villain' coin, which was produced to accompany the Vlix figure. AFA Graded 85NM+, with a CIB (Collectible Investment Brokerage) letter of authenticity, this again had been given an enticing £2,000- £3,000 estimate. The hammer game down at £1,400.
