Super villains beware! More than 1,000 action figures of famous heroes, like Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hulk, Green Lantern, are set to descend on South Yorkshire next month during Sheffield Auction Gallery's toy sale on 7th February. This huge single owner collection was put together over recent years by a keen comic collector in the North West and is now being sold in one giant auction.

Along with the figures, the collector put together a huge selection of Marvel and DC memorabilia includings mugs, postcards, games, clocks, posters, money banks and, of course, comic books. According to Sheffield Auction Gallery's special valuer John Morgan, the most unusual item is a bottle of shampoo.

"With over a thousand single figures, the variety of scale and interpretation was quite astonishing," added John. "When they were all unpakced, I had to keep looking over my shoulder as thosands of eyes seemed to follow me around the room."
