New central London shop to replace previous flagship store in Holborn. ...
You remember we previously reported that ModelZone was being forced to close its flagship Holborn store in central London because the premises are set to be turned into a hotel - hope all those guests are happy when they're sleeping in their beds, forcing collectors to buy their collectables elsewhere! Anyway, we've just received some great news from ModelZone to say it's found a location for a brand new London store!

After a month of searching for a new site, the model and hobby store has settled on a new site in New Oxford Street, which is due to open at the beginning of June. ModelZone chief executive Martin Carr said: “I am delighted to announce that we will soon be opening a new store in central London to replace our iconic shop in Holborn. The site, on New Oxford Street, is only 300m west of the original shop in an excellent corner location.

"This new store will again allow us to offer our customers a strong range of all of our product ranges. I am sure that, like its predecessor, it will be a 'must visit' attraction for all model enthusiasts based in or visiting London. The board are extremely pleased to have been able to find such a good location so soon after the closure of the previous store. We expect to have this store trading imminently.”

Great news for collectors and we can't wait to visit! Remember, to get the latest collecting news delivered direct to your inbox every two weeks, sign up for our e-newsletter.
