Browsing through the latest catalogue for Aston's Toy Auctions among the many diecast models, toy figures and locomotives, one particular lot caught our eye - no 197A LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Boba. Now, we make no secret of our love for LEGO here at Collectors Club of Great Britain and regularly mention how it's quickly becoming an extremely collectable toy. However, even we were surprised to see this particular item has a pre-sale estimate of £80 to £100... so a little bit of detective work was required to uncover why this individual figure had such a high estimate.

Although LEGO has made numerous minifigures based on the famous bounty hunter, the example being sold at Aston's isn't your typical Boba-figure. That's because it's the version from the Cloud City No. 10123 set, which was originally released in 2003. This Boba is unique because it has a printed pattern on its legs and arms, which resembles armour - whereas most other Boba Fett minifigures just have plain grey legs and arms.

As such LEGO minifigure collectors are extremely keen to get their hands on the armour-plated Boba and, actually, that £80 to £100 estimate is fairly reasonable. A quick search on eBay shows that one has sold for a whopping £225, while the lowest price was £100. We'll be watching the Boba figure carefully to see how much it sells for at the auction on 20th February.
