Hot Wheels Elite’s deal with Ferrari is ending by “mutual” agreement allowing Hot Wheels to focus on making film models. 15 years of working together ends on December 31st.

Two of the last Ferrari models to be sold by Hot Wheels Elite are the 1976 Ferrari 312 T2, as shown below in very early production form at Nuremberg earlier this year, and the LaFerrari, both are 1/18 scale models and should be available in November 2014. The 312 T2 was driven by Niki Lauda during the 1976 season and featured in the recent hit movie Rush. The final pre-production decal-master version is pictured above.

Any products that are scheduled to be made in 2015 will be dropped, this includes the 1/18 and 1/43 Ferrari California T, the Ferrari F1 2014 driven by Fernando Alonso in 1/18 and 1/43 scales and the 1/18 scale model of the Ferrari 458 Speciale.

Future film models will include the Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger available in February 2015 and the 30th Anniversary edition of the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 available in September 2015, both 1/18 scale models are shown below, photographed in pre-production state at the 2014 Nuremberg Toy Fair.
