So, just in case you've missed any of the excellent coverage on Collectors Club of Great Britain, over the festive period we're going to round-up some of the best content... it's a bit like an advent calendar but with interesting stories instead of rubbish chocolate. To read the content or watch the videos, either click on the 'read more' link or look for the blue links within the text. We're halfway through the year now but there's still plenty of interesting collectable news!

JULY

ModelZone administration continued...

July started in very much the same way as June, with the tragic news about ModelZone continuing to rumble on. First all stock was reduced, a previous owner blamed the management for dumbing the store down, administrators announced that no buyer had been found for the store, Ripmax takes over the Amerang side of the business and, finally, the news that Hornby had been forced to write off a £200,000 debt to ModelZone.

North West Durham Collection nets £134,000 at Vectis

There was a real sense of anticipation at Vectis recently ahead of the North West Durham Collection sale on 11th July. The private owner auction contained just under 1,000 lots, mainly of single item Dinky and French Dinky models and Vectis had pegged a mighty £100,000 pre-sale estimate on the entire sale. Well, now the results are in and, incredibly, the total auction soared well over that estimate and the hammer fell on a grand £134,847, with four Dinky replicas netting four figure sums!
