20 Years of Corgi Heavy Haulage

20 years ago, Corgi launched their first range of Heavy Haulage diecast models. These were mainly huge articulated trucks based on real vehicles used for moving abnormal loads. Even reduced to 1/50 scale they took up a lot of shelf space, therefore you needed large display cabinets to show off these models properly! There were multi-wheel trailers, some powered by multiple tractor units and the largest were around 860mm long. Loads ranged from transformers, to steam engines, to speedboats and to oil-pumping stations. These were king-sized models and look absolutely fabulous.

The demise of SAAB was felt by most car enthusiasts – their quirky, fast and yet safe designs were unique in the marketplace. During their history, however, SAAB produced some truly remarkable cars, including some you may never have heard of.
