20 Years of Corgi Heavy Haulage

20 years ago, Corgi launched their first range of Heavy Haulage diecast models. These were mainly huge articulated trucks based on real vehicles used for moving abnormal loads. Even reduced to 1/50 scale they took up a lot of shelf space, therefore you needed large display cabinets to show off these models properly! There were multi-wheel trailers, some powered by multiple tractor units and the largest were around 860mm long. Loads ranged from transformers, to steam engines, to speedboats and to oil-pumping stations. These were king-sized models and look absolutely fabulous.

The demise of SAAB was felt by most car enthusiasts – their quirky, fast and yet safe designs were unique in the marketplace. During their history, however, SAAB produced some truly remarkable cars, including some you may never have heard of. We have searched out some of the more unusual models for you, including a Cadillac with a SAAB badge and a SAAB SUV.

For hands-on enthusiasts, we show you how to take a model that you can buy in Poundland (yes, really) and turn it into a replica of an early 1980s Club Racing car.

All of this plus our usual 11 bumper pages of new model reviews, our auction price guide, the latest roundup of the news from the world of diecast and much, much more.
