Dinky Toys Collectors’ Association AGM

The DTCA held its 2019 AGM on the 29th June at the Hallmark Hotel in Derby. Some members had stayed overnight and others came on the day. The proceedings started at 2.00 pm with a welcome by the Chairman and a report from the President David Cooke. Following this the Chairman, Michael Driver, reported on the year’s events and then members of the Committee gave their reports.

There was much interesting discussion about ideas for the future and the activities of the DTCA. After this the Committee was re-elected for the coming year by a unanimous vote taken by the Secretary.

As in previous years there were excellent displays of Dinky Toys to look at and of course some to purchase. There was also a display of models modified to suggest what Dinky Toys might have been made using their existing castings.

Members gathered for the Saturday night formal dinner and on this occasion the Chairman gave a talk on prototypes and promotional Dinky Toys with members finding the examples extremely interesting and seeing another side to the history of Dinky Toys.
