Scania’s classic 141, with its large-capacity ground-breaking V8 powerplant was introduced in the mid-seventies as the successor to the 140 that had taken the truck world by storm in 1969.
This classic tractor unit has underpinned the launch of the new brand "Road Kings" with its initial batch of releases. Here we have the latest incarnation in green, red and white, which gives the model a fabulously evocative look about it.
Made largely of high-quality metal, the Road Kings Scania 141 has steerable front wheels and opening doors to both sides of the cab, affording an excellent opportunity to fully appreciate the interior.
The finish all over is truly excellent and I really can't find any faults here. The classic lines of this much-loved classic truck are perfectly replicated and the paint finish is flawless. The finesse of the detailing such as the door mirrors, and cab roof lights/horns is very pleasing - Road Kings has clearly made the most of the opportunity of scale to make these as realistic as possible.
Looking at the front end, the slats on the grille are superbly recreated and the lower badges are both there, reminding you what it is and what's behind that grille! The rear of the truck is just as well modelled with some really nice detailing.
Limited to just 500 pieces, this is definitely worth considering for your collection. At a scale of 1/18, Road Kings is setting a new trend in the truck model market worldwide and is about to introduce Mercedes-Benz and Volvo tractor unit models to add to the range, so prepare some serious shelf space!
