Since its debut in 1995, Toy Story has become one of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved franchises. From rare LEGO minifigures and nostalgic action figures to fashionable Loungefly bags and Adidas trainers, Toy Story merchandise continues to evolve for both collectors and new fans alike.
Toy Story Lego Minifigures
Toy Story’s relationship with LEGO began in late 2009, with the first wave of sets arriving ahead of the release of Toy Story 3. A second wave followed in 2010, introducing a range of new characters.
Unlike modern LEGO minifigures, the original Toy Story figures featured unique moulded designs that closely replicated the characters animate appearances.
Many characters were given oversized sculpted heads, elongated limbs and specialised moulds. For example, Woody received a dedicated wide-brimmed hat, while Buzz Lightyear featured a custom domed visor.

The Toy Story Lego line had an amazing range of characters, including:
- Woody
- Buzz Lightyear
- Jessie
- Bullseye
- Rex
- Hamm
- Aliens
- Sarge
- Lotso
- Bo Peep
- Forky
- Emperor Zurg

The 2010 Emperor Zurg was considered one of the rarest of the collection because of its complex moulded armour and cape design. The figure was produced in limited quantities and remains highly sought-after by collectors today.
In 2016, LEGO revisited Toy Story as part of its wider Disney Collectable Minifigures series. This time, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the Alien were redesigned using the standard LEGO minifigure body shape.
Instead of large, sculpted heads, facial expressions were printed directly onto traditional minifigure pieces, bringing the characters in line with LEGO's modern design philosophy.
Toy Story Loungefly
Loungefly has become one of the most popular brands for Disney-inspired accessories, and Toy Story has been a major part of its catalogue since 2019.
The original releases included cosplay-style mini backpacks inspired by Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Slinky Dog. These quickly became favourites among Disney Park visitors and collectors thanks to their detailed character designs.

Since then, the range has expanded significantly, with many designs available through Disney and Loungefly's own stores. Recent releases celebrating both the franchise's 30th anniversary and the upcoming Toy Story 5 have introduced several new designs.
Highlights include:
- Triple-pocket backpack featuring Jessie, Woody and Buzz Lightyear
- Lilypad-themed backpack with supporting character artwork
- Alien-inspired crossbody bag
- Smarty Pants cosplay card holder
- Pizza Planet Truck light-up figural crossbody bag
- Woody's Saloon mini backpack
- Alien crossbody bag with matching coin purse
The growing collection demonstrates how Toy Story continues to appeal to fans of all ages, combining nostalgia with modern fashion trends.
Toy Story Action Figures Sets
When the original Toy Story was preparing for release in 1995, major toy companies including Mattel and Hasbro reportedly passed on producing merchandise because they were uncertain about the film's commercial prospects.
Instead, a smaller company called Thinkway Toys secured the licence and produced the first talking Woody and Buzz Lightyear figures.
Those early toys became an unexpected phenomenon. Demand quickly exceeded supply, helping establish Toy Story as one of the biggest toy brands of the decade.
Following the release of Toy Story 2 in 1999, Hasbro took over the master toy licence. The company significantly expanded the range, introducing new characters such as Jessie and Bullseye while also releasing numerous variations of Woody and Buzz.

Hasbro also launched the "Toy Story and Beyond" line, which explored more obscure background characters and expanded the Toy Story universe beyond the main cast.
For Toy Story 3 in 2010 and Toy Story 4 in 2019, the master licence returned to Thinkway Toys. Recognising the strong nostalgia among collectors, Thinkway introduced the highly regarded Toy Story Collection, later known as the Signature Collection.
These figures were designed to closely match the toys seen in the films, making them particularly desirable among adult collectors.
Today, manufacturers including Mattel continue to produce action figure lines that focus on articulation, character variety and screen accuracy, allowing fans to recreate scenes from across the franchise.
Toy Story Adidas Sambas
Adidas is embracing Pixar nostalgia with a collection of Toy Story-inspired footwear that combines iconic character designs with some of the brand's most popular silhouettes.
Jessie receives perhaps the most distinctive makeover. Her Mary Jane shoe features cow-print chaps across the upper, denim-inspired Three Stripes branding and a recognisable western aesthetic that reflects the character's cowgirl roots.

Woody's design transforms the classic Adidas Samba into a wearable tribute to Andy's favourite toy. The upper uses blue denim-style materials, while tan suede overlays appear on the front.
The yellow-and-red checkered pattern from Woody's shirt is incorporated into the Three Stripes and collar, while his signature neckerchief is referenced around the heel.

Buzz Lightyear, meanwhile, receives a dedicated running shoe. The design features a white mesh base accented with Buzz's familiar purple, green, red and blue colour palette, creating a futuristic look inspired by the Space Ranger himself.

Priced between £80 and £95, the collection sits at the more affordable end of Adidas' footwear range while offering plenty of appeal for Disney and Pixar fans.
Toy Story Funko Pop
Few collectable brands have embraced Toy Story as enthusiastically as Funko. Over the years, the company has produced figures based on characters from every film in the franchise.
Popular releases include:
- Woody
- Buzz Lightyear
- Buzz Lightyear Glow-in-the-Dark
- Jessie
- Bullseye
- Emperor Zurg
- Alien
- Hamm
- Rex
- Sarge
- Slinky Dog
- Bo Peep
- Wheezy

Many of these figures have become highly collectable, particularly convention exclusives and limited-edition variants.
The line continues to grow with new characters arriving alongside Toy Story 5. Upcoming additions include Blaze Manoukian, Blaze's Pet Pig, Lilypad and Smarty Pants, ensuring collectors have even more characters to add to their shelves.
Nearly three decades after the first film premiered, Toy Story remains one of Disney and Pixar's strongest merchandise brands.
Whether it's rare LEGO minifigures, nostalgic action figures, stylish Loungefly accessories, themed Adidas footwear or ever-growing Funko Pop collections, there is something for every type of collector.
With Toy Story 5 introducing new characters and generating renewed excitement around the franchise, the world of Toy Story collectables shows no signs of slowing down.
