Discover Royal Mail’s 2025 Christmas stamps — a modern take on Nativity scenes designed by Paula Doherty, celebrating unity and festive spirit.
Royal Mail have just released their Christmas stamps for 2025 and have decided to go for a more modern take on the Nativity scenes this year.
Paula Doherty designed this year’s stamps by taking fragments of different fabrics and patterned paper to create this harmonious arrangement. Designed in a hat-trick design. Christians believe that God’s work in Jesus Christ is a work of reassembly – gathering pieces of a fragmented world that points to unity. This is represented clearly through the illustrations, the generous sleeves of the wise men, the head coverings of the shepherds and the cloaks of Mary and Joseph.

The illustrations are a thoughtful expression of the origins and spirit of the Christmas season. The members of the familiar cast of characters shown in these stamps appear here in motion, all advancing towards their still centre in the tiny form of a holy infant.
The stamps show:
- An Angel on a 2nd class stamp.
- Mary and Joseph on a 2nd class large letter.
- Mary and the Baby Jesus on a 1st class stamp.
- Shepherds on a 1st class letter.
- And the Three Wise Men at £3.40.
They can be bought through the Royal Mail website as presentation packs, collectors’ sheets, miniature sheets, stamp books and more.
This is the first festive season since the price of a first-class stamp increased to £1.70, for many this is the beginning of the Christmas period, once the festive stamps are on sale, it is time to put on the Christmas music and put up the tree!
