The owners of buses and coaches formerly operated by the Maidstone & District Bus Company are entering their vehicles into a special event to celebrate the centenary of the formation of the company. M&D 100 is being held at the Kent Showground at Detling, near Maidstone, on Saturday 9th April, 10am and 4pm.

Almost 50 vehicles once operated by M&D have already been entered and more are expected, many lovingly-restored to pristine condition and others still earning their keep in public service. There will also be buses on display representing other companies, including one vintage bus that ran until recently in Malta.

The oldest vehicle entered is a 1912 Hallford open-top double-decker and representatives from all nine decades through which M&D operated will be on static display or giving rides.
