New diecast model releases from Corgi - 2008 Images

Here is a preview of the new releases to come from Corgi during the second half of this year. As you will see in the pictures, they include a number of new castings. There are a few more to come which are still under development. These will be mentioned in the relevant sections but, briefly, the new tooling being introduced during the next six months includes the latest MAN TGX/XLX tractor unit in 1/50 scale, the Routemaster bus in 1/76 scale, the Triumph TR4 in both 1/76 and 1/43 scales, the Green Goddess, Dennis F12 and Land Rover Series 1 in 1/76 scale, the Austin A40 Farina, Vauxhall Nova and Talbot Sunbeam in 1/43 plus, in the Aviation Archive range, the Fokker DVII, Spitfire Mk XIV and PR XIX, Dornier Do215/172, Westland WG-13 Lynx and the TSR2. Along with many tooling modifications and upgrades, they make for an interesting range with something new for just about everyone.

 

 

Lorries

As well as the MAN TGX of Dyce Carriers Ltd of Aberdeen and MAN XLX in Eddie Stobart Livery, which will have a new type of vinyl curtain-sides on their trailers, new developments
among the 1/50 scale ‘Hauliers of Renown’ series include open curtain-sides on the DAF 105 with Moffett Mounty in Ken Mallinson of Huddersfield livery and Volvo FH12 of R M Page, Hook,
Hampshire colours, a new sheeted load on the Scania 143 and flatbed trailer of Gallacher Bros, Co Durham and new straw-bales load on the Scania R Series of G Owen & Sons, Newtown, Montgomeryshire and the Iveco Stralis with refrigerated curtain-sider of P Harper & Sons, Ramsey, Cambridgeshire. All the 12 new models in the ‘Hauliers of Renown’ series will feature

Bus

Buses

Other new models in the Original Omnibus Company range will include the Scania Irizar PB in the latest National Express livery, Crossley DD42 in Sunderland Corporation Transport
livery, Leyland PD3 ‘Queen Mary’ in British Shoe Corporation colours, Sunbeam S7 as the last South Lancs trolleybus, and the Wright Eclipse Gemini of Go North East featuring the

Vanguards

Four of the five new 1/43 scale Vanguards Classics are new castings; The 1958 Austin A40 Farina in Sutherland Green, 1962 Triumph TR4 with ‘Surrey Top’ in Signal Red,
1983 Vauxhall Nova in Carmine Red, 1980s Talbot Sunbeam Lotus in Embassy Black and Ford Capri Mk 3 3.0S in Signal Orange.

Mini 50th Anniversary

For the Mini 50th Anniversary this year, new 1/43 Vanguards models will include a three-piece set of the first Mini off the production line, a Morris Mini Cooper and a
Mini Van on trade-plates. There will also be some ‘celebrity’ Minis, the Cooper S Mk 1 of Paul McCartney, Cooper Mk 1 ‘Radford Mini de ville’ of Peter Sellers,
Cooper S 1275 Mk 1 of Steve McQueen and the Mini Minor Deluxe 850 featured in the 2006 Marks & Spencer advert with Twiggy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

James Bond

The ‘Bond’ Aston Martin DBS has been revised as the car used in the latest ‘Quantum of Solace’ film in both 1/36 and ‘fit the box’, about 1/64, scales, to join the re-released
Bond series and as a ‘Daniel Craig Era’ set.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aviation Archive

The new tooling for the Aviation Archive range later in 2009 will be the Fokker DVII in the 1/48 scale Aces of the Great War series, and the Spitfire Mk XIV in the
WW2 – Special Duties series and the Spitfire PR XIX reconnaissance version of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Do172 and Do215 versions of the Dornier,
two versions of the Westland WG-13 Lynx and the keenly-awaited TSR2, XR219, the only prototype to fly, all in 1/72 scale.
