Meccano has announced that it will pursue a new licensed property product development strategy in 2012.

At the London Toy Fair 2012, which will be held next week, Meccano is planning to unveil its major licensed properties. Sue Barratt, Country Manager, Meccano Toys (UK) Ltd, said: “These are exciting times for Meccano. We are taking our considerable brand heritage and fusing it with some of the hottest licensed properties available...”

While the new licenses are currently under wraps, planned releases for 2012 include the Turbo Evolution Red and Blue racing cars, each featuring the new ‘pull back and go’ racing technology. The models include streamlined stickers and tools and instructions for assembly. The cars will have an RRP of £24.99.

Joining the Multi Models range will be a new 2-model assortment, featuring a new racing car or crane. Each set contains 60 complex parts which allows the assembler to create two different models. The set will have an RRP of £7.99.
