BACHMANN – OO GAUGE 2EPB TWO CAR EMU BR (SR) GREEN (31-376)

Following the success of its first venture into Southern Region EMU modelling, the 4-CEP, it was only a matter of time before Bachmann decided to add to the range. The first release for this year is the 2EPB. Built between 1954 and 1958 for the South Eastern Division North Kent services, 79 units were constructed by Eastleigh Works, using the BR Mk.1 coach profile as the major design base. Each unit was equipped with standard buck-eye couplings and 27-way jumper cables at the cab ends enabling them to work with other slam-door EMUs.

Bachmann has made a terrific job of modelling these high-density units with their large number of outward-opening doors and it has also incorporated some excellent flush glazing – a definite requirement when there are so many windows and door droplights! Like its predecessor, the model is likely to fly from model shops and is priced £110.90. Roll on the Motor Luggage Van!
