With 880 lots of toys and models offered for sale, the 15th January auction was Aston’s biggest sale since it became a dedicated toy auction house last spring. Some 852 of the lots were sold.

The first 140 lots of the sale were taken up with a single owner’s Games Workshop Fantasy Wargaming Miniatures Collection, built up from 1970 onwards, which raised a total of more than £15,000, with competitive bidding pushing prices way beyond estimates.

Back on more familiar ground, there were some great Dinky Toys from a private collector. Two of these were ‘Sausage’ vans, with a 28F Palethorpes van going for £850, while the 28K Marsh’s Sausages van went to an impressive £2,400.
