Warlord Games, which makes a range of historical wargame miniatures, has sent over details of its latest batch of figures for its Pike & Shotte and Bolt Action series.

One of the more interesting pieces is the introduction of Cardinal Richelieu for the Pike & Shotte range. The 'Red Eminence' as he was known was a powerful clergyman acting as King Louis XIII's First Minister. He transformed France into a central power and wielded considerable influence during the 30 Years War. The model is inspired by Herni Motte's depiction of Richelieu besieging La Rochelle.

Up next is a WZ.29 Ursus Armoured Car for the Bolt Action series. Designed in 1929, the Samochód Pancerny wzór 29 (‘armoured car 1929 pattern’), was more commonly known as Ursus or CWS. Based on the chassis of a 2-ton truck, the Ursus mounted a 37mm anti-tank gun and multiple machine guns. Although adequately armoured for the inter-war period, the Ursus was the poor relation when facing more modern opposition in 1939.

Warlord has also introduced a new webstore, which it says will make everything easier to find. To learn more about Warlord, head to the website.
