Your recently reinstated editor made his annual pilgrimage to one of his favourite toyfair locations in mid-September, when he took in the BP Fairs event at Sandown on 15th September.

Another packed event offered plenty of tempting diecast treats at prices to suit all budgets. At one end of the spectrum there were many bargains to be had and these were mixed at the other, of course, with some fabulously hard-to-find variations in mint condition.

There were also opportunities to catch up with several Diecast Collector contributors. Of particular note in this category was Alex Marsden and he happened to have his recent toyfair find with him. Remember Alex’s interesting discovery discussed on page 74 of the last issue? This rare-coloured Matchbox Zodiac has prompted much discussion as to whether or not it’s a genuine rarity or a rather good repaint. Alex would appreciate any more thoughts on this matter. For starters, fellow Diecast Collector contributor, Brian Gower, mailed his thoughts in and these can be found on page 82 of this issue.

The next Sandown Toy Fair is on 10th November and it's always a busy one. You can find out more about this and other BP Fairs events at www.bpfairs.com.
