Ryu Asada tribute, Britains Farm centenary and Ferrari rally cars

Editor Rick Wilson talks through what we can find in the October issue of Diecast Collector

We pay tribute to legendary Hot Wheels and Matchbox designer, Ryu Asada, who passed away earlier this year, and conclude our centenary celebrations of Britains farm models. It’s the 60th anniversary of Vauxhall’s FB Victor and we go back to a time when Ferraris went rallying. There are plenty of projects on our workbench - a new regular feature – and, in the world of TV & Film, there’s a pair of bizarre Batmobiles and a model from an obscure Japanese TV series.

All your regular favourites are there too, of course, including Desert Island Diecasts, collecting Matchbox Superfast by number, vintage Dinky of the month, our monthly glimpse into the editor’s collection, and brand new model releases detailed and reviewed. There’s also the latest industry news, plus auction news and price guides, and readers’ letters – it’s another bumper issue packed with all manner of things new and old in the world of diecast.
