Vectis has been in touch to let us know about a rare promotional issue Corgi Land Rover, which was made in the 1970s for a Quake Up cereals competiton... do you remember the cereal? Anyway, the model is actually a modified version of the more common Daktari vehicle but with some subtle differences.

The Land Rover is finished in a mid/dark metallic green with black stripes, has a deep yellow interior, a grey base with Whizzwheels but doesn't have the spare wheel fixed to the bonnet, unlike its Daktari cousin (below you can see a picture of the pair together). The rare promotional issue even comes in the original plain brown mailaway box with customer's address cut-out still attached. Known as the 'Tarzan' model, this was never issued for general release.

According to Vectis the cereal company did various promotional toys during the 1960s and 1970s with both Corgi and Matchbox. The model will be sold in the 24th October auction and has a pre-sale estimate of £400 to £500.
