Today saw the start of the three-day Vectis sale from Dr Cornel Fleming, a mix of TV and Film related, tinplate and military items, all in superb condition, with many rare lots available.
The catalogue went online earlier this month and created quite a stir amongst collectors, with a flurry of absentee bids received over the last few days as collectors started to vie for their lots, which resulted in some strong opening bids this morning.
However, the room today is extremely busy with many regular faces and also some new. Both internet terminals have been awash with activity and the bids are bouncing back and forth and producing some fantastic final results.
Highlight of the day so far has to go to the Mattel He-Man Masters of the Universe Heroic Warriors 3-pack (lot 6098), containing He-Man, Teela and Ram Man. In mint condition it had an estimate of between £800 - £1200. When the hammer finally dropped it realised £12,000 (incl. Buyer’s Premium), potentially a new world record!
