Iron Man 3 Audi R8 model due for re-release

UK distributor Amerang has been in touch to let us know that "due to high demand" Japanese diecast manufacturer Kyosho is planning on re-releasing three of its 1/18 scale Audi R8 replicas, along with adding a new Audi R8 GT in Suzuka Grey to the range. The Audi R8 5.2 Quattro in Brilliant Red will be released in September and will be joined by Jet Blue and Brilliant Red versions of the Audi R8 Spyder - all three have a suggested retail price of £99.99. The Suzuka Grey follows in October, again it has an RRP of £99.99.

Of course, you may be wondering why Kyosho has suddenly decided to re-release this batch of models... well, it could be something to with the fact that billionaire, genius playboy Tony Stark nips about in an Audi R8 in the recently released superhero flick Iron Man 3. Thus viewers will see the amazing sports car on the big screen and want to snap up their own replica. In fact, Audi itself
has been keen to trumpet the appearance of the R8 in the film, as shown by the advert below.
