Hot Wheels Elite 1966 Batmobile
Fantastic line-up of TV & film releases for 2014/15 includes new Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5. ...
A retailer list of upcoming 2014 and 2015 releases from Hot Wheels shows the company is working on a number of exciting TV & film diecast models, including a 1/18 scale Aston Martin DB5 based on the one driven by James Bond in Goldfinger (here's hoping it has all the accessories) and a new Batmobile from the upcoming Batman vs Superman film, due for release in 2015 - the first confirmation that the Batmobile will be making an appearance in the movie.
Other Batman releases include 1/50 scale Bat from the Dark Knight Rises, 1/43 Batmobile from Batman Returns, 1/18 scale Batman Forever Batmobile and a 1/18 scale replica of the 1966 Batmobile.
What's more, next year also marks the 30th anniversary of the movie Ghostbusters and Hot Wheels is planning on releasing a special commemorative edition of the iconic Ecto 1 vehicle, accompanied by some figures. With a current RRP of £299.99 this should certainly be something extremely special.
However, that isn't the most expensive item on the list because a 1/18 special edition Back to the Future Time Machine, with undisclosed features, comes in at a whopping £369.99 RRP... for that price we would expect it to actually be capable of time travel. That's not the only Time Machine planned though and Hot Wheels is also releasing a 1/50 scale version, with the budget price tag of £10.99, as part of its new Elite One range.
So, some exciting times ahead for TV & film collectors. Hopefully we'll get to see some pre-production models of these upcoming releases at the International Toy Fair in Germany early next year.
