Arecent consignment at East Bristol Auctions is being described as ‘the mother load’ by toy specialist Andrew Stowe. Its Games, Trains & Automobiles toy auction features an incredible collection of Sci-Fi action figures, horror related collectables and vintage games consoles. ‘It came from a gentleman in Manchester who has decided to downsize his collection and start afresh,’ said Andrew. ‘It took two Luton vans to collect, and our collections team had to battle through blizzards to get there. But it’s all been worth it!’
‘It’s not just old toys that are worth money,’ states Andrew. ‘The Comic-Con culture is a huge market. High-end action figures are all the rage and demand massive prices. A large part of this collection is likely to be no older than ten years, but the number of people who collect these types of items has probably tripled in that time. Being a nerd is now the ultimate symbol of cool!’
