The Specialist Toy Sale held by Durrants of Beccles, Suffolk on Friday 3rd February attracted a broad choice of items across the collecting hobby.

A Hornby O gauge pre-war stalwart, the clockwork LNER 4-4-0 ‘Yorkshire’ locomotive and tender, topped the prices with the hammer coming down at £500 (12.5% commission + VAT is payable in addition to these prices).

There was an impressive wooden pond yacht with two masts, which made £360, while a French JEP tinplate Touring Car reached £310.

A boxed example of the Shackleton Foden FG clockwork truck went at £230, while five boxed sets of lead figures – RCMP British Hussars and Horse Guards, British Cavalry and Infantry, British Redcoats and Mounted Arabs – sold for £140.

Durrants presents a Specialist Collectors Sale on 27th April, a Militaria Sale on 25th May and its next Toy Sale on 24th August.

From January this year, Durrants has teamed up with the-saleroom.com to enable live bids to be placed during its sales from home.
