Coronation locomotive available to pre-order now
In honour of His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation this weekend, Hornby has released a commemorative coronation locomotive. Available to Collector Club members only, it is ready to preorder online from 4th May 2023.
On Saturday, we will see the coronation of our first new British monarch in 70 years. King Charles III rose to the throne on 8th September 2022, and his long-awaited celebration is finally upon us. As a company with a long British heritage that has seen the crowning of three previous monarchs, it is only fitting that we mark the occasion.
The Class 66 TXS model features a striking coronation livery. The bold purple design includes a King Charles III nameplate, the coronation date, and the words ‘God Save the King’. It has sound fitted to play the tune of God Save the King as the locomotive makes its way around the track.
This limited-edition model comes in bespoke coronation packaging and is a Collector Club Exclusive. With only 1000 units available, this commemorative locomotive won’t be available for long!
Anyone lucky enough to buy a coronation locomotive can expect to receive it in September 2023. Baskets are restricted to one locomotive per person, but anyone in the world can buy one.
