A new catalogue from Corgi is always eagerly awaited. So, with the third and final publication of the year having now arrived, heralding the next tranche of model release announcements, here are some highlights.
Following on from the previous two announcements, earlier this year in the March and July issues, the eagerly awaited third instalment of Corgi's new release programme for the tail end of the year and into 2023 has finally arrived. Loud and proud on the front cover is the No Time To Die Triumph Scrambler, which is due to arrive any day now. If the pre-production shots are anything to go by, this is going to be an absolute beauty. The real bike has been on display over the summer down at the Beaulieu's National Motor Museum, so if any of you have had the fortune to be there and seen it first hand up close, you may well understand our excitement.
Onto the models new for this catalogue, the two immediately below are of great interest as they are new toolings - Ford's Focus Mk3 RS and Cortina Mk5. Both look superb from what we've seen so far, and they will prove great additions to Corgi's already impressive range of products from the blue oval.
There are plenty more of Dagenham's finest in the catalogue too, and you can see more examples below too. There is another release of the gorgeous Triumph TR5 there as well.
There is only a single new announcement in terms of buses, and it's another New Routemaster. Corgi has assured us that there are exciting times ahead for bus collectors - hopefully we will see evidence of that with the next batch of announcements early next year.
One category where there is no shortage of excitement is in Corgi's incredibly successful Aviation Archive range. With the stunning 1/48 scale Typhoon, due very shortly, previously covered, there is a great stash of new announcement here to add to that. Both 1/72 and 1/48 scales are well-covered in this respect, so feast your eyes on the page opposite to get an idea of what we mean.
We covered the news of the revitalised Trackside range in the July issue of Diecast Collector (available to buy here) and several of these are already on sale. Glimpse across and you'll find another six confirmed as on their way. Trackside has always been a popular range amongst both collectors and railway modelling enthusiasts alike - and it's easy to see why.
