"It feels a bit like waiting for buses, you wait all year for a fabulous diecast collection to come along for auction then 2 turn up at once" commented auctioneer John Morgan from Sheffield Auction Gallery.

Following the success of the single owner Tinplate and Fine Diecast sale on 16 December, which saw 395 lots net £28,000 (plus commission), they are repeating the formula again on 23 February.

This time sourced from one of Sheffield's lifetime toy collections it includes both pre- and post- war Dinky, Corgi, Matchbox 1-75's, Hornby 'O' Gauge and ready to run '00' scale model railways. While covering many subjects there is an emphasis on pre- and immediate post- war Dinky Aircraft, Dinky Cars and Commercials and Dinky Military. "The emphasis on quality is key here," John continued "with many items just as they may have been when purchased new".

Some early highlights include a Dinky No.100 Lady Penelopes Fab 1 in flourescent pink; a Dinky No.154 Hillman Minx saloon, with pale blue and cerise body; a pre-war Dinky No.43 R.A.C. hut, motorcycle patrol and guides set; a Dinky 902 Foden Flat Truck in orange and green; a Corgi No.339 Mini Cooper 'S' Monte Carlo 1967, and A Corgi No.69 Massey Ferguson tractor and shovel. All items are in an excellent condtion and come in very good boxes.
