Complete set of Apollo space crew autographs goes to auction

Excalibur Auctions’ next specialist memorabilia sale on 25th April has more than its fair share of rare and collectable items.  Alongside original movie, music and travel posters and memorabilia, is a wide selection of autographs from many stars of the stage and screen, famous sportsmen and women and other notable celebrities.

The icing on the cake (or the cheese on the moon if your prefer) has to be the full set of Apollo mission astronaut crew autographs – every manned Apollo mission from Apollo I to Apollo 17.

This includes:
•    The rarest of all – the full set of crew autographs from the Apollo 1  mission– as all three of the crew members were killed before the mission started - Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Ed White, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee were all killed during a test launch
•    One of the most sought-after autographs – that of Neil Armstrong which is being auctioned together with the other crew members from Apollo 11.
•    A full set of autographs from the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission which landed on this day (17th April) 50 years ago in 1970.
•    Apollo 17 was the last moon landing mission of the Apollo programme and remains the most recent time that humans have travelled beyond low Earth orbit.

The auction takes place on Saturday 25th April starting at 10:30am BST and due to the current Government regulations regarding the Covid 19 pandemic will be a live webcast online only auction.
