Corgi has revealed the first stereo shots of the new 2013 McLaren and Lotus F1 cars. These resin built stereolithography models are constructed using CAD (Computer Aided Design) to reach the highest level detail of design and accuracy. Built with timy resin slices these prototype models are the last stage before the new tooling is approved and commissioned. Once these ‘first shots’ have been approved by Corgi's development team and licensors it is then able to authorise full production.

The first release from the new Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Collection is due in November in the form of CC56701 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-28 2013 Race Car Jenson Button. The special edition 1/43 scale diecast model will carry the latest McLaren F1 livery as seen during this year’s Grand Prix season. The newly tooled Lotus F1 Team E21 2013 race car will follow the Lotus F1 Team E20 2012, series which is due for release in June. Available in October the first E21 release will be the race car of 2013 Australian GP winner Kimi Raikkonen - CC56801.

Both special edition models will be presented in a plastic case from which they can be detached and come complete with collector cards detailing information about the car modelled.
