It’s been a long time coming, but the latest release in the new Corgi Model Club series has definitely been worth the wait
It’s been a long time coming, but the latest release in the new Corgi Model Club series, manufactured by Corgi and distributed by Blue 14, has definitely been worth the wait. The No 271 Ghia 5000 Mangusta, with removable De Tomaso chassis, is an incredibly faithful replication of one of Corgi’s most popular original models.
Complete with a replica blue and yellow tiered window box, just like the original release, it even features the incredibly rarfe header card. The club had a mighty search on its hands to find an original box with header card present, but thanks to a worldwide search on social media, one was eventually located in the USA and shipped over for scanning and replication.
Following on from this stunning replica, Corgi Model Club has just confirmed the next seven releases to follow in the series – No 224 Bentley Continental, No 215S Ford Thunderbird, No 261 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (yes, THAT Corgi DB5!), No 335 4.2 litre Jaguar E-Type 2+2. No 303S Mercedes 300 SL Open Roadster, No 437 Cadillac Superior Ambulance and No 485 BMC Mini Countryman/Surfer.
