Corgi has announced the launch of its exciting New Bentley Collection.

The collection will include a series of die-cast 1/43 scale detailed model cars and will be launched in the second half of 2014 with two brand new castings; the Continental GT V8 S (Bentley’s latest model announced at the Frankfurt IAA Motorshow in September 2013) and the striking Continental GT3 race car which was launched at the Autosport International Show in January 2013 (see my photo below) and will soon be seen on some of the world’s most famous racetracks.

The collection will include both Bentley road and race cars from past and present and authentic liveries where applicable (please, please, please let there be models of the EXP Speed 8s at Le Mans in 2001, 2002 and 2003 as well as those driven at Le Mans by The Bentley Boys in the 1920s and '30s!!). Each model comes complete with a collector card detailing information about the car and is presented in a protective plastic case which can be removed for display limited edition models will also include an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.

Corgi and Bentley are committed to building a long term partnership in the collectible scale model and toys sector and plans also include development of Bentley products for the Corgi Toys range, further details of which will be announced next year.

The programme of toys and models that Corgi have planned with Bentley and over the next five years we will be creating a whole new collection of Bentley models at both high end collectables and pocket money toys. This is the perfect partnership for two great British brands.

The partnership will enabled Corgi to start development of the models at an early stage meaning that the model availability will be as close as possible to the release of the real cars. This is another promising step in the growth of the Corgi brand with both adult collectors and children’s toys.
