Brightwells' Toys, Dolls & Textiles auction on 8th January featured a neat selection of classic diecast from the likes of Dinky and Corgi, with many of the lots achieving prices well over their pre-sale estimates. Below we've rounded up some of the best lots sold during the sale - descriptions are taken from the Brightwells catalogue.
Dinky Supertoys No. 901 Forden 8 Wheel Wagon, in red and grey, boxed. Sold for £200.
Dinky Toys No. 282 Duple Roadmaster Coach, boxed edges rubbed, model good condition. Sold for £80.
Dinky Toys No. 443 Studebaker National Benzole Tanker, has retailer's stamp on top and box edges are worn, minor paint chips on the model but still good condition. Sold for £120.
Dinky Toys No. 146 2 1/2 Litre Daimler V8, in metallic blue, boxed. Sold for £120.
Dinky Supertoys No. 504 1st Type Foden 14-ton Tanker, in two tone blue livery, box label slightly scratched, model in very good condition. Sold for £170.
Corgi Toys No. 244 Bentley Continental, black and silver, very good condition. Sold for £90.
Corgi Toys No. 355 Jaguar E-Type, red, box edges slightly worn, very good condition. Sold for £130.
Corgi Toys No. 238 Jaguar Mark 10, in metallic blue, box edges and flap hinges slightly worn, vehicle good. Sold for £150.
Corgi Toys No. 309 Aston Martin Competition Model, green and white, box and model in very good condition. Sold for £140.
Corgi Major Chipperfields Circus Crane, with rhino in cage, perspex box dented, generally very good. Sold for £260.
Corgi Major Chipperfields Circus Menagerie with Scammel Handyman, still with original trade protective card, all very good condition. Sold for £380.
