Auction Watch - Aston's Toy Auctions

With so many auctions taking place almost every week, it can often be tough to keep up with the collectables on offer. Well, here at Collectors Club of Great Britain, we like to try and help with our fairly regular Auction Watch news pieces. This time it's the turn of Aston's Toy Auctions in Dudley, which has a wide range of items in the upcoming 20th July sale. Below you can read about some of our top choices in the auction, plus a few unusual ones that could be worth a second look. Descriptions are taken from Aston's.

Bing Submarine: the largest size of the first series of submarines made by Bing, and listed in the 1902 catalogue. Clockwork, includes hand rails, screw on cap, rudder and propellor. Length 93cm. Appears G although repainted and restored internally. Estimate £400 - 600. Pictured to your right.

Tyco Transformers G1 Electric Train and Battle Set. Includes locomotive, gondola car, box car and caboose, power station, autobot and decepticon figures, action mat, track, instructions and transformer. Overall appears VG in P box (lots of tears and creases). Estimate £30 - 50 - although Transformers collectors may be willing to pay a lot more, it'll be interesting to see how this one does.

Model railway layout with OO gauge track and smaller scale scenery, layout features mountains, tunnels, trees, buildings, people, base is 140cm x 100 cm. Together with a quantity of other model railway scenes (farm, allotments, shops, etc). Not suitable for postage. Estimate £60 - 80 - perfect for someone wanting a ready-made layout.

Three versions of the Corgi Toys 233 Heinkel Economy Car: lilac with red interior (G/VG in G/VG box); red with lemon interior (VG in VG box); blue with lemon interior (VG in G/F box with repaired end flap). Estimate £140 - 180 - a good opportunity to add three colour variations to your collection.

Dinky Toys 454 Trojan 15 CWT Van `Cydrax`. VG in VG box. Estimate £80 - 120 - well, with the glorious weather at the moment, who wouldn't fancy picking up a nice cider-themed model?!

Timpo Racing Car Set, contains: MG Record Car, red; Star Racer, blue; Speed of the Wind, green, all with bare metal hubs; 3 x petrol pump; 2 x dispenser; 4 x figures. Appear G-VG and tied on to blue card insert, in G/F box with split to three corners of lid, G illustrated label. Estimate £120 - 180 - there are actually four Timpo sets in auction, it'll be interesting to see which makes the most.

Airfix 1/24 scale James Bond Special Agent 007 Aston Martin DB5 model kit, from Goldfinger, c.1964-`67. Contained in VG box, with instructions, unstarted and appears complete (parts sealed inside a plastic bag). Hard to find in this condition and unopened. Estimate £140 - 180 - a super opportunity to pick up this sought-after plastic kit.
