The original Manchetts company was started in 1961, by George Manchett, mainly undertaking agricultural and machinery repairs, plus a small amount of motor fuel sales at what is now the company’s head office in Burwell, Cambridgeshire. The modern incarnation of Manchett’s is now a 4th generation family business and the group of companies encompasses everything automotive with car and commercial dealerships, an accident repair centre, vehicle hire and vehicle recovery.

Manchetts Recovery in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk specialises in damage free recovery. The team of technicians and operators that run and take care of these vehicles are passionate about them and the job they do. Manchetts provide 24/7 rescue and recovery for all vehicle breakdown solutions across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, whilst also boasting the brightest green and yellow livery around.  With a fleet of over fifty commercial and light recovery vehicles, ranging from service vans and car recovery units to heavy duty low loaders, crane rotator recovery vehicles and specialist off road winching units, Manchetts are well-equipped to serve the needs of anyone unfortunate enough to breakdown or be involved in an incident on the area’s roads. Manchetts also service police and fire department contracts in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, as well as facilitating nationwide recovery.

To mark the occasion of Manchetts Recovery’s 60th anniversary, in 2021, the company commissioned much-respected truck model specialists, Search Impex, to replicate one of its heavy recovery trucks, a Volvo FMX (6x4) with registration AD19 ODK, in a limited edition run at 1/50 scale. Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models, each of the 255 models produced comes packaged in an eye-catching, bespoke window display box.

Packed with plenty of detail, this stunning diecast replica is exquisite. Customised in the colourful Manchetts yellow and green livery, the list of features is extensive:
• Tipping cab
