Malc Townsend has announced a new toy fair which will take place in Kirkby-in-Ashfield on Sunday 3rd April 2011. ...

Toy collectors will be spoilt for choice next month as another new venue joins the toy and train fair circuit.

Malc Townsend, a familiar face to traders who attend the popular Normous Newark Autojumble, will be holding a toy fair on Sunday 3rd April at Kirkby-in-Ashfield’s Festival Hall.

Of the new venture Malc says: “I have often thought the Festival Hall would be a great place for a fair, but I suppose there is only one way to really find out. From a stallholders’ point of view it is an ideal location, with excellent access, at the heart of a large catchment area. It has very good public transport links, both bus and train, and is well positioned in relation to both the M1 and A1.

“The hall’s management has been wonderfully supportive, and are just as keen as I am to see it succeed. We have four dates planned for this year and trust that we will get the trader/customer ratio right – which has to be the key formula to any good event.

“I am being encouraged to try a couple of further venues – but walking has to be mastered before attempting to run! Ashfield is my home so a good place to start.”
