We’re take a look at a couple of models, produced exclusively for Hattons, before they go on general release. First up is a OO gauge model of one of the London Midland & Scottish Railway’s pioneer main line diesels, No 10000. Manufactured by Dapol, the model features a number of separate parts, which can clearly be seen on this pre-production model. This striking locomotive and its sister 100001, built just after Nationalisation, should be available later this year priced £125.

Another OO model exclusive to Hattons is the Metropolitan-Vickers Co-Bo (classified as Class 28 but not carried by them). Last produced in this scale by Hornby-Dublo in the 1960s, this model has been developed and manufactured by the Danish model railway company Heljan and depicts this unusual locomotive, with its slab sides, dropping cab windows and unusual four-wheel and six wheel asymetric bogies extremely well. The model should be appearing in the shops around June and will also be priced at £125. The model shown here is the second in the 20 strong fleet and one of the few to wear BR blue, most of the class being withdrawn before this time.
