A screen-worn costume, as worn by William Shatner as Admiral James T. Kirk in the classic Star Trek film ‘The Wrath of Khan’ has sold for $44,812 (including buyer’s premium) at a recent auction run by Heritage (www.ha.com) in Beverly Hills, USA.
The three-piece Starfleet duty uniform features a jacket and undershirt worn by Shatner in what is regarded by many as the best Star Trek film. Later the costume was modified and worn by Leon Russom, along with the included trousers, as the Starfleet Commander-in-Chief in ‘Star Trek VI’.
The uniform comes with the distinctive maroon jacket, complete with Shatner’s name typed onto it and Russom’s name handwritten on it in black felt tip. The set is completed by a white undershirt, black trousers, and black leather belt with metal Starfleet insignia buckle included.
Elsewhere in the sale, which took place on the 17th July, a collection of more than 120 lots from the Estate of Gary Morton and his wife, Lucille Ball, brought $230,780. Amongst the rare items on offer was Lucille Ball’s 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spur, which fetched $29,875.
