A true icon in every sense, the Mk 2 Jaguar won the hearts of many in the swinging 1960s but the story didn’t end there. The type secured a fresh army of fans years later, as the stylish ride of ITV’s detective Inspector Morse.

This 1:18 scale replica from Model-Icons has all the grace and beauty of the real thing, and no expense has been spared with regard to detail. This has much to do with brand new tooling, as well as consultation with Jaguar and vintage car experts to ensure a quality product and accurate lines. Resplendent in Carmen Red, the paint is top-notch and harmonious with the excellent chrome-finish bumpers, trim, grille and exhausts. The headlight glass even has an accurate pattern and the spoked wheels are a triumph. There’s much more though, because the boot opens, as well as the bonnet which covers a superb rendition of the 3.8 engine. All four doors open to throw light on the sumptuous tan leather upholstery, and a thoughtful attempt has been made to re-create the burr-wood dashboard so admired on the full-size vehicle.
