In what is being called a ‘world first’, Post & Go stamps from Jersey Post and Guernsey Post will be vended from a single kiosk during the Melbourne International FIAP 2017 Stamp Exhibition.

The stamps will share a unique number string relating to the kiosk, known as ‘CSP1’, while an exhibition overprint reading: ‘Melbourne 2017 Int. Stamp Expo’ feature on Crest of Jersey stamps as well as Guernsey Flag stamps vended from the kiosk during the four-day event, which runs from 30 March to 2 April 2017.

Meanwhile, Jersey Post & Go are paying tribute to British singer and ‘the Forces’ Sweetheart’ Dame Vera Lynn, who celebrated her 100th birthday recently, with a commemorative overprint.

Melanie Gouzinis, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post, said: ‘“We’ll Meet Again” is the song most often associated with Dame Vera Lynn and we felt the lyric would make a fitting overprint to celebrate her special birthday. The overprint, which will appear on Jersey Flag stamps, will read: We’ll meet again and will be available from Dame Vera’s birthday on Monday 20 March until Monday 10 April 2017.’

Jersey Post’s JE02 series Post & Go kiosk, powered by Royal Mail, is located in Jersey Post’s Broad Street post office in St Helier. A limited number of Collectors’ strips featuring the We’ll meet again overprint will be available to order at the Jersey Stamps website or by contacting the Jersey Philatelic Bureau on: 01534 616320.
