Error discovered on Grenadines of St Vincent 1988 Olympics stamp sheet

Hampshire-based stamp dealers Rushstamps have discovered a spelling error on a 1988 stamp sheet issued by Grenadines of St Vincent.

The six-stamp 1988 Seoul Olympics sheet shows a different sport on each value, with equestrian on the $4 stamp, but unlike the rest of the stamps the $4 value spells the name of the country ‘Grenedines’ rather than ‘Grenadines’.

Allan M Grant of Rushstamps said: ‘We are quite amazed that this has not been spotted before.’

WIN the stamp sheet!
We have one example of the erroneous stamp sheet to give away, courtesy of Rushstamps.
