The ADL Enviro400 is a twin-axle double-decker bus that has been built by the British bus manufacturer, Alexander Dennis, in Guildford, Surrey, since 2005.

Reading Buses, owned by Reading Borough Council, operates a modern fleet of single and double decker buses - serving the towns of Reading, Bracknell, Newbury, Slough, Windsor, Wokingham and the surrounding area in the county of Berkshire, as well as parts of Greater London.

The origins of Reading's transport system began with horse-drawn trams in 1879 and the first motor buses commenced operations in 1919.

Both of these new models from Northcord depict the same vehicle - an Enviro400 MMC with fleet number 758 and registration number YX64 VRU. Introduced to the fleet new in late 2014, it currently operates Greenline services, model number UK0062 replicates this, whereas UK0061 carries the standard Reading Buses livery of its earlier days as part of the company's fleet.

The colourful livery is perfectly applied on this attractive bus with superb and crisp graphics with marvellous interior detail, particularly to the cab area. The destination boxes are excellent too, portrayed correctly in 3D rather than relying on a flat tampo print. Additionally, the external handrails exhibit a level of finesse frequently lacking at this scale from other manufcturers, giving Northcord an edge at the premium end of the market.

A pair of exquisite models. More please, Northcord!
