The penultimate ‘Princess Coronation’ to be built No. 6256 was built to Stanier’s design, but modified by George Ivatt. Named in honour of its original designer, it was also the last ‘Princess Coronation’ to be built under the LMS. This locomotive saw a re-design to the front edge of the tender, which was now fitted with Timken roller bearings.
