K.I.T.T. is the acronym of a fictional character car from the popular adventure TV series Knight Rider.

Officially known in the show as the Knight Industries Two Thousand (to give it its full name) it was, according to the storyline, designed by the late Wilton Knight, a brilliant but eccentric billionaire and founder of the Foundation for Law And Government (FLAG) and its parent company Knight Industries.

In reality it was a modified 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and the most important of these was the car's ability to scan and see situations. This, for anyone that remembers the show, was represented by a flashing row of light at the front of the car on top and just ahead of the bonnet opening.

The car could also speak and this was voiced by William Daniels. This was also the show that really launched a certain David Hasselhoff into the limelight, playing K.I.T.T.'s companion, Michael Knight.

Jada's new release is really rather good and is packed with features not usually found at this price point.

It features opening doors, bonnet and tailgate, and the original car's lines very well recreated in diecast - the plastic moulded interior doesn't let the model down either. In fact the dashboard is very well done. Opening the driver's door has another very important benefit because it sets of the row of lights at the front that are the car's eyes. These stay on for a short period, but not too long as to drain the batteries. So yes, it means that you will find yourself opening and closing the door several times - it's bordering on being addictive!

The paint finish is excellent all over and the detailing to the wheel trims is perfectly correct as well as being nicely done.

An absolute treat all round and wonderful value.
