LEGO fans will be well catered for at East Bristol Auctions’ next Toy Collectors Auction on 19 October.

Consigned to the sale is a complete run of the popular LEGO Minifigures, including what is deemed by many to be the ‘holy grail’ figure – Mr Gold. ‘It’s an impressive collection,’ says auctioneer Andrew Stowe. We have every single Minifigure ever made by LEGO, all the way from Series 1 up to the most recent sets. They are all sealed, all untouched…It’s a collectors dream!’

The collection, spanning some thirty lots includes the limited edition German Football Team set, Harry Potter figures and figures from the 2014 LEGO Movie. ‘The power of LEGO is incredible,’ adds Andrew ‘the first series was released in 2010, and for sale at £1.49 each. Some of those figures are now worth £40! Minifigures are the ultimate modern collectable’.

Perhaps of most interest within the collection is the rarest of all the Minifigures – the elusive ‘Mr Gold’. Released in 2013, only 5,000 were ever made to commemorate the tenth series of the figures. Originally priced at £1.49, examples can now be worth four-figure sums. ‘He’s rare, he’s special and he’s LEGO’ says Andrew. ‘They really are the ‘holy grail’ for Minifigure collectors, and ours, which is a mint un-registered example, carries an estimate of £800-£1,200’.

East Bristol’s auction starts at 10am on Saturday 19 October. Their full catalogue can be viewed at www.eastbristol.co.uk
